NBA Basketball Lockout Meeting Recap
Last week's meeting between NBA reps and the players' union was the first positive negotiation meeting since this all began in January 2010. There weren't many detail at all about what took place, but the lack of frustration was apparent once it was all wrapped up. Wednesday, September 7th is the date that both sides will begin negotiations that have been sought after since the NBA lockout on July 1st, 2011.

Ex-NBA Player Jason Vincent Recieves 5 Years In Jail
Ex Michigan State and NBA basketball star Jay Vincent was sentenced to 5+ years and $110,000 to the IRS on Friday, September 2, 2011. This sentencing stems from a fraud case the Vincent took part in that involved people that paid to be certified home inspectors. The phony business that was used as the front was called Forclosure Bank Inspection, and more than 20,000 unsuspecting people gave money thinking that they would be trained to become certified home inspectors.

2012 NBA Champions – Ron Artest’s Prediction
Ron Artest has issued a prediction for the 2012 NBA championship. He claims that the LA Lakers will be the champs in 2012. He not only predicts it, he guarantees it. Ron Artest is the small forward on the Lakers so this prediction is obviously biased but I think that this kind of optimism is useful in betting on basketball.
